Do you want to make a real difference for students who need extra support to succeed in their schooling? We are now looking for an engaged student assistant for a fixed-term position at WEGAS, a unit within the Introduction Programme at Carlforsska Gymnasium.

Your responsibilities

As a student assistant, you work closely with students throughout the school day, both during lessons, breaks, and lunch. Your task is to create safety, structure, and a conducive learning environment, as well as contribute to the students' motivation, development, and independence. You adapt your support based on the students' individual needs and daily condition, actively working to create good conditions for learning and social interaction.

You collaborate closely with teachers, student health services, guardians, and other colleagues regarding the students' development, and participate in the planning and follow-up of interventions and support. The position is linked to students within the Introduction Programme, including a student with a visual impairment, which means you will also support the use of digital aids and other adjustments needed in the student's education.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have a high school education and experience working with children or young people. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good computer skills and experience using digital tools in your work. A B-category driver's license is required.

We would appreciate it if you had experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities and knowledge of adapted interaction. If you have also worked with students within the autism spectrum or with people who have visual impairments or blindness, it is advantageous. Relevant education such as childcare worker, student assistant, teacher assistant, or other equivalent education is also advantageous, as is experience with digital aids for people with visual impairments.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to be secure and stable in yourself and able to adapt your working method to different situations and needs. You take responsibility for your tasks, work independently, and find it easy to collaborate with others. Since the students' needs may vary, it is important that you are flexible, solution-oriented, and thrive in a role where conditions sometimes change. You have a pedagogical approach, are sensitive to the students' different conditions, and contribute to a positive and inclusive climate.

Other information

Before you can be employed, you need to show a clean extract from the police's criminal record register.

The employment is a special fixed-term position at 80% during the period August 10 to December 23, 2026.

Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of personal registration together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
