Our Health and Medical Care Unit is now looking for an occupational therapist who is passionate about elderly people with increased needs and their ability to feel autonomous, independent, and included. We have a need to expand our team with an occupational therapist for a limited period. Are you that therapist?

Järfälla Municipality has chosen to co-organize all licensed personnel working within elderly care and disability services into one single unit: the Health and Medical Care Unit (HSE). You will have your employment with HSE, and your working days will be based at our care and nursing homes in the municipality.

The Health and Medical Care Unit consists of a highly competent team that works together with joy, responsibility, and lack of hierarchy. We help each other advance health care and occupational therapy. Through regular meetings, we share knowledge and foster a strong sense of community.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of occupational therapist with us, you will work together with physiotherapists, nurses, and care staff at the residences. Together, we strive to create a good quality of life for the elderly and ensure we add value to their daily lives. As an occupational therapist, you will find the best ways for residents to use their own abilities in everyday life. You support and motivate individuals to develop and maintain their physical, cognitive, and social skills.

Main responsibilities:

• ADL (Activities of Daily Living) assessment.
• Functional assessment.
• Supervision and guidance for care staff.
• Support/guidance regarding cognition, communication, and environment.
• Prescription/provision of assistive devices.
• Documentation in patient records.
• Mobility training for staff.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are passionate about autonomy for people with increased needs. You are a licensed occupational therapist with preferably 1 year of professional experience. We would like you to have previous experience working within elderly care. You communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Naturally, you have good computer skills.

The work requires that you are secure and stable, have good collaboration skills, and a structured approach to work. It is important that you thrive working independently and adapt easily to changing circumstances. You are positive, engaged, see every individual, and have the ability to understand what each person needs!
