About Us

The Rehab Team in Sala Municipality is a friendly and ambitious group consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and rehab assistants. We are responsible for rehabilitation efforts throughout the municipality's elderly care services, as well as within the disability support sector. We are a relatively large work group divided into smaller units based on operational areas. What unites us all is our strong commitment to ensuring that the municipality's residents receive the best possible care tailored to their individual needs, goals, and conditions. Your Responsibilities

As a physiotherapist at a special housing facility, you are responsible for rehabilitation interventions at one or two of our facilities in central Sala. Your base is at the unit, and you work in a team together with occupational therapists, rehab assistants, nurses, unit managers, and care staff. You plan your days independently and, through a person-centered approach, perform physiotherapeutic examinations, assessments, and interventions (e.g., exercise and prescription of assistive devices) based on the individual's specific needs, goals, and conditions. You play a clear and active role in the team regarding preventive and rehabilitative measures for patients, both at the individual and group levels. There are great opportunities for knowledge exchange and collegial support when needed, as you have daily contact with your colleagues in the rehab team. You also have the opportunity to perform administrative tasks in our shared office spaces at Sala Hospital.

In addition to patient-facing work, your responsibilities include supporting, supervising, and to some extent training care staff in methods for maintaining function and activity, ergonomics, transfer techniques, and assistive device management. Together with the unit manager and colleagues, you are involved in the quality and development work of the operations. It may also become relevant for you to supervise students from Mälardalen University.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist (or equivalent), preferably with a few years of professional experience. Previous experience within municipal rehabilitation or work in special housing is advantageous, as is further education in areas such as dementia, geriatrics, or other fields deemed suitable by the employer. You are engaged in your work, collaborate easily, and communicate in a pedagogical manner with patients, colleagues, relatives, and other partners. You are solution-focused, proactive, and feel confident making decisions within the profession's scope of responsibility. The tasks are varied and of different nature, requiring you to be responsible, structured, flexible, and solution-oriented.

Other Requirements

A valid B-category driver's license and experience driving are required. You must also be able to cycle.

The job requires good computer skills and the ability to communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Employment Terms

Temporary position until August 2027, with good opportunities for extension.

Full-time 100% (40 hours/week).

Working hours: daytime, Monday–Friday, no weekends or holidays.

Start date: August/September 2026, by agreement.

Individual salary setting applies.

A police certificate (register extract) regarding work with the elderly and people with disabilities must be presented prior to employment.
