We are looking for a driven and engaged nurse for the Planned Operations Unit Sala, EPOS. Region Västmanland's highly productive hip and knee prosthesis unit within the Orthopedic Clinic.

At EPOS, all staff are employed by the unit, from anesthesiologists to sterile technicians. This creates an efficient care chain similar to what private providers do, but with the advantage that we can offer most patients, even the sicker ones, hip or knee prosthesis surgery.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of nurse at EPOS, you are part of a multidisciplinary team and a key person who develops and drives the operations together with your colleagues.

The position involves placement on the elective care ward.

Job responsibilities on the elective care ward include working with pre- and postoperative care. In addition, you are responsible for postoperative telephone follow-ups, wound checks, suture removal, and mobilization after surgery.

About the Workplace

The Planned Operations Unit in Sala is part of the Orthopedic Clinic with orthopedic inpatient care within hip and knee arthroplasty. By gathering the entire care chain and all competence within the same unit in its own premises, we increase productivity, reduce care time, and create higher quality for both the patient, the employee, and the region as a healthcare provider.

The goal is to create efficient flows and functioning teams to evaluate and achieve efficiency and secure production, where all staff are employed by the Orthopedic Clinic.

Our new unit in Sala consists of a reception, care ward, operating department, postoperative ward, and sterile supply department. We have three operating rooms and 17 care beds on the ward. Currently, two operating rooms are in operation, with the third room primarily intended for use as a training room.

The Planned Operations Unit in Sala opened on April 15, 2024, with its own high-production operating rooms where the entire care chain from new visit to concluded care contact is included.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. Experience in orthopedics as well as pre- and postoperative care, specialist training in emergency care, anesthesia, or operation is meritorious for the position.

We are looking for a person who has the ability to take initiative and create participation. Good cooperation and humility are a matter of course for you. You are solution-focused and are happy to share your knowledge, as well as having the ability to reprioritize and handle a high pace.

Interest in research is highly meritorious. You have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you are a person who has contributed to improvements and development work in your previous jobs.

Terms of Employment

Permanent employment within the Orthopedic Clinic with placement in Sala.

Full-time employment, but this can be discussed.
