We are pleased to welcome another ST (specialist training) doctor to our friendly team at Västerstrand Health Centre. Here you will find wonderful and competent colleagues who are happy to mentor a future colleague. It is important to us to keep the patient in focus, but also to have fun at work.
Your workplace
We are located in Våxnäs centre, approximately ten minutes from Karlstad, with good bus and cycling connections.
We offer a great workplace with experienced specialists in general practice. Currently, we consist of five specialists, two ST doctors, and one AT (post-graduate training) doctor.
We have a well-staffed team including district nurses, nurses, psychiatric nurses, assistant nurses, a social worker, a psychologist, and healthcare administrators. We have approximately 11,000 registered patients in our area and collaborate closely with Karlstad Municipality's social welfare assessors, who are also based on-site with us.
Your responsibilities
As a doctor here, you will have a challenging and exciting job with excellent conditions for broad training within the specialty. Your education will be tailored in consultation with your supervisor, but we follow Region Värmland's training programme for ST doctors.
Our current ST doctors really want to highlight our supervision, both the systematic and weekly supervision as well as the daily guidance. This creates security and reduces delays in assessments and decisions.
As an ST doctor at Västerstrand, you will have a varied and stimulating job involving:
- Scheduled clinics and acute patient cases.
- Some on-call and standby duties in consultation with your supervisor.
- Active participation in operational development with a focus on accessibility, patient safety, and quality.
- Distributed side duties, such as responsibility for SÄBO (support and service for people with disabilities) or work at the midwife's clinic may occur.
Your knowledge and competencies
We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with an interest in primary care and who wish to become a specialist in general practice. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language and must also have the eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare, along with a desire to help develop the operations to become even better.
As a person, you are responsible, structured, and have a pleasant manner. You thrive in patient interactions and always put the patient first, while also having the ability to see the bigger picture of the operations. You are flexible and can adapt your working methods to changing circumstances. You prioritize and organize your work efficiently and prefer to work in collaboration with others. You also have an easy time understanding and empathizing with other people's situations.
