SLU's Environmental Unit is now looking for an interim Environmental Coordinator to contribute to SLU's environmental work. We are looking for you who want to become part of the team and drive environmental issues at SLU forward.

About the job

As an Environmental Coordinator, you will work broadly with environmental issues related to SLU's environmental management work. You will handle everything from SLU's environmental goals, environmental audits, follow-ups, and reporting, to contacts with other authorities and higher education institutions. Much of the work involves coordinating efforts where you will support and advise the operations regarding internal environmental issues for the entire SLU.

As an Environmental Coordinator, you may perform a wide range of tasks, such as:

• Contributing to environmental communication
• Identifying and following up on environmental aspects
• Supporting operations regarding legal requirements and compliance in the environmental field
• Conducting authority reporting
• Coordinating and implementing environmental audits

Travel within Sweden occurs.

Your background

You have a relevant academic degree in natural sciences and experience in environmental and sustainability work.

Requirements

• Experience of systematic environmental management work in public or private operations
• Good knowledge of environmental legislation
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing
• Good computer skills and knowledge of the Office package

Merits

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience of or good knowledge of the environmental management standard ISO 14001:2015
• Experience of environmental audits
• Knowledge of chemical management and environmental risk assessments
• Experience of working with environmental information
• Experience of handling and processing large data sets for analysis, compilation, and reporting

As a person, you are outgoing, used to working in a structured and independent manner, and have good ability to collaborate and communicate with different target groups. The work requires responsibility, structure, precision, and self-leadership. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

About us

The Environmental Unit works actively to increase knowledge, awareness, and engagement internally within the university regarding environmental issues. The unit is responsible for coordinating and communicating SLU's environmental management work and initiates and follows up on overall environmental goals. The unit also handles chemical safety, physical work environment, biosafety, and sustainability work related to Agenda 2030. The Environmental Unit is involved in many processes, including environmental-related authority contacts, coordination of internal and external environmental audits, and providing various tools for the organization. The unit supports the entire SLU but is located at Ultuna in Uppsala.
