Job Description
AFRY’s environmental organization is currently national, with offices from Malmö to Kiruna. Through close collaboration between different technical areas, we form a strong whole. In Sweden, we currently have over 220 employees within the competence areas of Environment and Sustainability.
The Service Area Environment and Sustainability in Uppsala/Gävle currently consists of approximately 20 employees, distributed between the offices in Uppsala and Gävle, with focus areas such as contaminated sites, hydrogeology, permits, natural environment, sustainability, and climate.
The advertised role as Group Manager can be located either in Uppsala or Gävle and reports to the Service Area Manager.
You are offered a varied role with many contacts and client meetings, where you are responsible for the individual development and work situation of your employees. You contribute to work with strategy, profitability, market, quality, as well as competence and personnel development. You combine your management role with your own consulting work, for example as project manager or technical specialist.
The work is primarily based at your location, but travel is involved. There is also the possibility of remote work in dialogue with the Service Area Manager.
We are looking for someone who enjoys combining personnel responsibility with project work and who has a genuine interest in employee development and competence enhancement. Here, you contribute to developing strong teams, building culture, and creating a sense of belonging, while also contributing to innovative and sustainable solutions in our projects. We hope you will learn as much from us as we learn from you!
Qualifications
For this role, we see that you have at least eight years of experience within the environmental field and are well-versed in issues related to our technical focus areas: environmental permits, natural environment, contaminated land, sustainability, and hydrogeology. You also have good knowledge of Swedish environmental legislation.
You have an academic degree within the environmental field with a natural science or technical orientation. You have experience from consulting and have worked as a project manager. Experience from the contractor or client side is meritorious.
You have previously demonstrated good leadership and have a natural ability to engage and motivate others. We value your social competence and your willingness to develop and be challenged – both technically and in business and leadership matters. You are business-driven, relationship-building, and it is an advantage if you have an established network in the industry. Sharing your knowledge with both customers and colleagues is second nature to you.
You are fluent in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. A valid driver’s license (Category B) is also required for the role.
Do you want to develop together with us? We welcome your application.
At AFRY, we live by our values Brave – Devoted – Team players, which also says a lot about who we are looking for! We place great emphasis on your personal qualities, as we value engagement, flexibility, and your ability to collaborate with others.
