Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an engaged and experienced project manager who wants to continue developing future marine management in the Southern Bothnian Sea.

The position is part of a national ongoing effort where new methods for ecosystem-based marine management were established through a pilot project 2021-2025 and are now being scaled up in respective areas, while new EBHF areas (Ecosystem-Based Marine Management) are being established along Sweden's coast. More information about the EBHF work can be found at www.ebhf.se (http://www.ebhf.se).

Within the Southern Bothnian Sea area, you will work together with business leaders from the County Administrative Board of Gävleborg. Furthermore, the work is carried out in close collaboration with the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and other project managers within other EBHF areas, as well as locally within the Southern Bothnian Sea with a broad spectrum of actors – from authorities and municipalities to business, research, interest organizations, and civil society. You will play a key role in continuing to develop the work and driving a long-term, knowledge-based, and action-oriented effort for the marine and water environment. In addition to the responsibility for this project, you will contribute your expertise to the Nature Office's organization in Tierp Municipality.

The role involves both strategic and operational work, with significant individual responsibility and many contact surfaces.

As a person, you are self-reliant, proactive, flexible, and thrive in complex and changing contexts. You are responsible, results-oriented, and have good organizational and planning skills. You find it easy to build relationships and thrive in a coordinating and facilitating role. To thrive in this position, we believe you should have a good ability to prioritize, be unpretentious, and focus on solutions rather than problems.

The position includes presentation and representation duties, which place high demands on your ability to communicate complex issues clearly and your experience in appearing before groups.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an academic education, for example in marine biology, limnology, ecology, water management, or other education that we assess as relevant. You have a good understanding of natural science systems and the ability to analyze complex relationships.

You have documented experience in project management, including experience leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders, planning, executing, and following up projects against goals and budgets, as well as working with reporting to clients or funders. It is desirable that you have at least three years of relevant work experience. You are accustomed to producing, interpreting, or using facts and knowledge bases and can integrate scientific knowledge with local/practical knowledge and conditions.

As a person, you have the ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally. You speak clearly and exude credibility and confidence. Giving presentations, lectures, and training where you adapt them to the target audience's needs and feedback comes naturally to you. You have the ability to plan and organize your work and find it easy to set goals, organize resources, follow up, and conclude activities.

To ensure good and safe communication with colleagues and actors within the project, we require good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

As travel for work purposes occurs, a valid B-driver's license is required.

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: Ends 2028-12-31.
Working Hours: Daytime.

At Tierp Municipality, we focus on our employees' well-being and therefore offer a wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK, the opportunity to exchange salary for extra vacation days, a benefit bike, and other attractive benefits. We also strive to create a workplace with rich development opportunities.

Diversity is important to us, and we see our employees' different backgrounds, experiences, knowledge, and personalities as a valuable resource that enriches our municipality.

If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must be able to show a valid work permit or confirm that you are exempt from the requirement. Employment can only take place after we have verified this, in accordance with the Aliens Ordinance.

We ask you to submit your application digitally via Visma Recruit. Please do not send the application via email or in paper format. If you have a protected identity, contact the recruiting manager directly and do not submit your application digitally.

We kindly but firmly decline all offers of assistance with advertising or recruitment.
