Do you want to work with advanced radiation therapy in a national operation where clinical care, development, and collaboration are at the center? Skandion Clinic is looking for an experienced hospital physicist who wants to contribute solid clinical competence and help develop the operations long-term.

About the operations

Skandion Clinic is Sweden's national clinic for proton therapy. We treat patients from all over the country in close collaboration with the university hospitals. The operations are characterized by high specialist competence, collaboration, and continuous development.

The physics unit at the clinic currently consists of seven hospital physicists, rotating physicists from our university hospitals, and a unit manager – a group with broad competence. We are now looking for another knowledgeable colleague who can contribute with experience, clinical judgment, and long-term development of the operations and its working methods.

About the role

We are looking for you who are confident in the role of hospital physicist and who have broad experience of clinical radiation therapy. You enjoy taking responsibility, making well-founded clinical decisions, and contributing to complex issues together with colleagues from several professions.

The role includes clinical work within proton therapy, quality assurance, method development, and operational development.

We are looking for you who

• are a licensed hospital physicist
• have several years of experience in clinical radiation therapy
• have broad competence in radiation therapy physics
• are confident in independent clinical assessments and decisions
• have good collaboration skills and contribute to a positive work climate

Experience of proton therapy is meritorious, as is a doctorate with a connection to radiation therapy. We make an overall assessment where clinical competence, professional judgment, and collaboration skills are valued highly.

Other information

The position is a permanent full-time position. You work in our premises on von Kraemers allé in Uppsala. The position involves shift work with varying working hours. We offer some flexibility in both working hours and remote work, based on the needs of the operations.

About the employer - Skandion Clinic

Skandion Clinic in Uppsala is the only clinic in Sweden that performs radiation therapy with protons. The clinic has been in operation since 2015 and is continuously in a development phase. Skandion Clinic is owned and operated by the Skandion Clinic Municipal Consortium. The consortium is backed by the seven regions that have university hospitals. The operations also include Hotel von Kraemer, where many patients stay during their treatment period.
