Psychiatry South Stockholm strives to become a leading example within Swedish psychiatry. We continue to invest in development work in the areas of patient safety, care processes, and our most important resource: our employees. We are over 750 dedicated employees who offer patients good, safe, and equitable care.

We are looking for an Assistant Unit Manager for Ward 31 who wants to lead, develop, and drive the unit forward together with the Unit Manager, competent, and engaged staff.

About us at Ward 31, Nacka Hospital

Ward 31 is a geriatric psychiatric emergency care unit with 16 beds. Here, we treat individuals aged 65 or older who have recently developed mental illness and have previously had contact with psychiatry. The patients we treat may have diagnoses such as dementia, depression, anxiety, psychotic conditions, aftercare following suicide attempts, or combinations of different conditions, often with somatic comorbidity. Care includes periods of basic nursing for several patients. Length of stay on the ward is approximately 3–4 weeks, depending on assessment, treatment, and planning. We work in professional teams consisting of nursing assistants, nurses, social workers, medical secretaries, and doctors.

The workplace is located at Nacka Hospital next to Ektorps Center with good transport connections and close to the scenic Nyckelviken and Långsjön lakes. We have close cooperation with our sister wards in the same building.

What can we offer you?

We offer the opportunity to work at a workplace that provides space for personal and professional development. We have a work environment with clear roles and multiprofessional teamwork to ensure our patients receive good, safe, and equitable care.

As an employer, we care about our employees' health and well-being and offer, among other things, flexitime, a wellness hour, and an annual wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK.

Job Responsibilities

As an Assistant Unit Manager, your duties include coaching, motivating, supporting, and developing staff in their daily work together with the Unit Manager, so that they thrive and feel they can provide patient-safe care.

You will contribute to the ward achieving its goals, developing working methods, and act as a role model through your engagement and positive attitude. Qualifications

You must be a registered nurse, preferably with specialist education in psychiatry or geriatrics. Previous experience in psychiatric and/or geriatric care, as well as knowledge of Heroma and Take Care, are considered meritorious.

We are looking for you who are structured and take active responsibility for achieving the organization's goals and visions. You should have good collaboration skills, be flexible, and initiate and drive change work at the unit. As a person, you are communicative and work to maintain a good atmosphere. You are clear and motivating in your leadership and give employees opportunities to develop through feedback and reflection. You have the ability to understand and solve complex problems, quickly grasp situations arising on the ward, and have an interest in personnel issues and work environment. You share our values, which are based on patient focus, equal value for all, and joy in work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and value the quality that diversity brings to our operations.
