Gothenburg is growing and changing rapidly. Few cities have the development potential that exists here. Planning for future Gothenburg is a team effort involving many stakeholders, and the City Property Administration plays a central role in this challenge. The Projects and Investments Department has the important task of executing projects for new construction, reconstruction, and maintenance to meet the city's needs for schools, preschools, nursing homes, and specialized housing. In total, the Projects and Investments Department handles around 1,000 projects, either in parts or through the entire construction process from feasibility studies to handover and warranty management. The department currently has an annual turnover of nearly three billion SEK.
Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for three Project Managers for the Projects & Investments Department and the Educational Facilities area. As a Project Manager, you will lead both smaller and larger new investment and maintenance projects, as well as reconstructions and extensions in the existing property portfolio. In your role as Project Manager, you have a leading and coordinating role, independently driving construction and property projects, and having overall responsibility for quality, time and cost control, follow-up, and customer contact.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Responsibility for feasibility studies, design, and creating the right product for our customers
- Coordinate consultants and project team members
- Responsible for the execution of construction projects
- Perform economic and time management
- Conduct lessons learned/feedback sessions
Qualifications
For the role of Project Manager, you need to have at least three years of experience as a project manager with independent result responsibility, as well as good knowledge of contract law, the Planning and Building Act (PBL), and the construction process. The role requires a relevant university degree as well as previous experience of construction projects and project management, either as a consultant, contractor, or in a client role. Other equivalent education combined with qualified experience may also be considered.
To succeed in the role, you must have the ability to independently drive projects, be communicative, and be able to work from a holistic perspective where the administration's overall mission is taken into account. As a person, you are empathetic, engaged, and have a positive attitude towards working in a team.
Being able to express yourself well, in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, is of great importance, as is knowledge of handling commonly used digital tools.

As the recruitment takes place during the vacation period, feedback and the opportunity to answer questions may be limited during the summer. We plan to start interviews no earlier than the end of August/beginning of September.
