Do you want to specialize within your profession while maintaining a broad scope? Several of our colleagues have returned to the workplace because they appreciate the operational area's way of working.

Health professions is a broad operational area comprising occupational therapists, dietitians, health promotion consultants, physiotherapists, counselors, speech therapists, psychologists, and care planners. Our unit managers have shared roles and are therefore well anchored in the clinic. The operation has won the region's Golden Apple award on two occasions, which is given to recognize developmental initiatives both among management and staff.

Occupational Therapist to Palliative Ward and ASIH at Södertälje Hospital

As an occupational therapist with us, you are part of a small group of occupational therapists, two of whom work within ASIH (Advanced Home Care) and on our palliative ward. Some of our other occupational therapists, who are your colleagues, work in inpatient care and some in outpatient care. In the group of occupational therapists, we help each other across wards as part of our way of working. You have daily close collegial collaboration with both occupational therapists and physiotherapists, and you will work both on our palliative ward and in patients' home environments where you follow up on your patients.

In your work, you will meet people with severe illnesses, primarily cancer but also other diseases. Based on your meetings and in your planning with patients on the ward and in the home environment, you take responsibility for and carry out occupational therapy interventions. You make home visits during your working days, and your tasks include mapping patients' activity capacity and housing, assessing needs for and testing out assistive devices, as well as assessing needs for housing adaptations. You start from the patient's needs and address them through energy-saving activities or other interventions the patient needs. Your tasks include collaboration with the patient and their relatives/next of kin, collaboration with PVA and ASIH professions, our discharge team, and other parts of the rehabilitation chain.

We regularly supervise students, and this is included in the tasks of an occupational therapist with us.

Your personal qualities:

We are looking for you who are secure and stable, with personal maturity and a curious approach. You find it easy to collaborate with others and also enjoy working independently. We place great emphasis on personal suitability in this recruitment.
