About the position

AVA is undergoing a change process where we have received a clearer mandate within highly specialized emergency care. At AVA, you will lead the content and direction of nursing work and ensure that patients receive nursing care according to best practice and proven experience!

In the administrative work, the focus is on patient-oriented development areas as well as organizational and competence development. As a specialist nurse with a clinical development assignment, you collaborate with medical specialists and other professions to ensure that staff provides the most optimal care for the individual patient from the perspective of all involved professional fields.

Clinically, you as a specialist nurse play an important role in person-centered care, and you work in a team together with nursing assistants and doctors. We work to ensure the patient's need for basic and advanced nursing care.

Within AVA, patients with acute deterioration of vital functions or unclear conditions requiring investigation, stabilization, increased supervision, monitoring, and treatment are cared for. This may involve initiating Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV), High-Flow, taking blood gases, telemetry monitoring, and NEWS 2 with closer intervals. The patient's condition should be potentially reversible or treatable, and the average length of stay is approximately 1.5 days. We can also care for patients with tracheostomy and EDA. Common reasons for admission may include arrhythmia, pulmonary embolism (PE), intoxication, COPD, sepsis, neutropenic fever, electrolyte imbalance, smoke inhalation, etc.

The work is varied and involves a high pace, immediate actions, quick decisions, and you need the capacity to reassess the plan as treatment goals change.

As a specialist nurse with a clinical development assignment, you work mostly clinically but have 10% administrative work. Together with other specialist nurses with the same assignment, you are part of a larger collaboration working on healthcare development, both within your own nursing area and within the hospital.

  • Are engaged in the operations and the individual meeting with the patient and relatives
  • Actively seek new knowledge and apply it in practice to drive the development of the operations forward
  • Are confident in yourself and find your way quickly in a changing everyday life
  • Can plan, prioritize, and act independently but are also capable of changing direction as goals are redefined
  • Are flexible in both the relationship to the critically ill patient's needs and meeting new needs through change

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Specialist Nurse degree, 60 credits, in a field relevant to the operations
  • Real and formal competence, at least competence level step 1 according to Region Stockholm's competence ladder for specialist nurses.
  • At least 3 years of experience from emergency care or another relevant field.
