Job Description
Do you want to be part of developing one of the world's most technologically advanced products? Do you want to work with systems that are crucial for function, safety, and operational reliability – from concept and requirements definition to commissioning, verification, and testing?
We are now looking for a driven Mechanical Engineer / Process Engineer to join our mechanical systems team. The role may involve work with water-related systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems, depending on your background, experience, and interest.
Your Role
As an engineer with us, you will have a technology-oriented and varied role where no two days are alike. You will become a key part of the development of advanced mechanical systems and work closely with other technical disciplines, subcontractors, and internal specialists.
You will have a coordinating and cohesive role for your systems, following them through the entire development process – from concept, dimensioning, and technical solutions to commissioning, verification, and training.
The work involves, among other things, ensuring that the systems meet established requirements and function together with adjacent systems in a complex and safety-critical product.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for system functionality throughout the development process
- Develop system solutions that meet technical and customer requirements
- Dimension and optimize water-related, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems
- Write technical specifications and other technical documentation
- Collaborate with other technical areas, subcontractors, and production
- Carry out commissioning and verification of systems
- Participate in testing at subcontractors, at the quay, or at sea
- Act as a subject matter expert in R&D projects and concept studies
- Train crew members in the operation of the systems
- Participate in maintenance and further development projects for operational systems
Travel is involved in the role, primarily to Karlskrona where commissioning and testing take place.
Qualifications
Your Profile
We are looking for someone who thrives on technical challenges and has a strong drive to develop and learn new things. The product is unique and has high technical complexity, which means you do not need to know everything from the start. What is important is that you have a strong technical foundation, a genuine interest, and a willingness to develop into a specialist in your field over time.
To succeed in the role, we believe you have an engineering degree and at least five years of relevant work experience.
Examples of suitable educational backgrounds may include:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Process Engineering
- Energy Technology
- Chemical Engineering
- Marine Technology
- Mechatronics
- Technical Physics
- Product Development or other relevant technical focus
It is an advantage if you have experience in any of the following areas:
- Water systems, pump systems, valves, or piping systems
- Hydraulics or pneumatics
- Process technology and system dimensioning
- Commissioning and verification of technical systems
- Technical documentation and requirements management
- Supplier contacts and technical follow-up
- Work in complex, regulated, or safety-critical environments
As a person, you are curious, responsible, and solution-oriented. You enjoy collaborating with others but can also drive your own issues forward. You have good communication skills and thrive in a role where technology, coordination, and problem-solving meet.
