Welcome to the Orthopedic Department at Visby Hospital!

The Orthopedic Department at Visby Hospital consists of 15 care beds, divided into two care teams. Here, we handle both acute orthopedics and planned surgeries. We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and doctors. During daytime hours, Monday to Friday, we also have an experienced nurse acting as a coordinator. The coordinator assists with coordination, serves as a knowledge resource, and is available to everyone on the department for daily work. Your Responsibilities

The role includes standard nursing duties on an orthopedic department. You will work in care teams together with nursing assistants and in teams with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and doctors. As needed, we also collaborate with other professions such as dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists.

We place great emphasis on areas of responsibility and see them as a natural part of improving operations, both in minor and major matters. Therefore, you will be assigned a specific area of responsibility after six months at the workplace. The role also includes mentoring nursing students who regularly visit the workplace, which requires at least one year of experience as a nurse.

The position involves varying shifts with day and evening work, as well as working every other weekend.

Who are you?

You are a licensed nurse. Previous experience in emergency care is a merit.

Whether you are a new or experienced licensed nurse, we value personal maturity as a good foundation for working with people in emergency care. Curiosity and a desire to develop are driving forces, and you see yourself as someone who is never fully "finished" learning.

You are relationship-building and value good relationships with patients, relatives, and colleagues. Your ability to collaborate is good, and you appreciate being part of a whole. Flexibility and the ability to adapt are prerequisites in an operation where situations can change quickly. You have an aptitude for problem-solving and are a natural leader.

A background check via an extract from the criminal record will be conducted before a decision on employment is made. Selection takes place continuously during the application period.
