At Saab, export control is a critical part of our global operations and an essential aspect of our responsibility. As regulations continue to evolve, so does the need to ensure compliance across technologies, data flows, and international collaborations. We are now looking for an Export Control Manager who wants to help shape the future of export control by driving digitalization, smarter ways of working, and modern compliance capabilities within areas such as cloud technologies, AI, and connected systems.

As Export Control Manager, you will have a broad and varied role where you work both operationally and strategically with export control matters. You will support the business through qualified advisory services, manage cases towards relevant authorities, and ensure compliance with applicable export control laws and regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Classifying hardware, software, and information in accordance with applicable export control legislation
  • Supporting projects involving cloud services, AI, digital products, and international collaboration environments from an export control perspective
  • Driving improvements and modernization of product development processes, systems, and ways of working from an export control perspective
  • Contributing to digital transformation initiatives and identifying opportunities for automation and smarter compliance processes.
  • Training and supporting the organization in export control-related matters

The role is varied, collaborative, and at times fast-paced. You will work closely with colleagues across Saab and contribute to building scalable and future-proof export control capabilities.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with experience within export control, compliance, technology, or product development, who feels confident interpreting and applying regulations in complex environments. You hold a relevant academic degree within engineering, law, information technology, or a related field, and you communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, verbally as well as in writing.

You are curious about how new technologies such as AI, cloud solutions, and digital collaboration platforms impact export control and compliance. Experience working with digitalization, process development, or transformation initiatives is highly valued.

As a person, you are analytical, structured, and proactive, with high integrity and a strong sense of responsibility. You enjoy combining operational work with long-term development and are comfortable driving initiatives independently while collaborating closely with others. Experience from defence, high-tech industries, or international environments is considered an advantage.

The person acting in this role shall have the following competence:

  • Knowledge in applicable legal frameworks
  • Knowledge in export compliance management
  • Ability to manage and enforce compliance programs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of the prohibitions, restrictions and obligations
  • Experience in liaising with authorities and regulatory agencies
  • Analytical and strategic capability to assess and manage compliance risks
  • Certification "Certified Export Control Manager" or other relevant certification or qualifications.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
