Mips is now looking for a driven employee to join their world-leading Testlab at the headquarters. Here you will have the chance to work with and develop new advanced testing equipment, refine prototype manufacturing, run a well-equipped workshop, and be a key player in the collaboration with the three major engineering teams.
About the role
Mips sells its products to helmet manufacturers who implement Mips technology in helmets, which are then marketed and sold to end-users. Mips works with most of the larger helmet manufacturers worldwide in the sports helmet category, but also sells the company's solutions to brands active in the motorcycle and safety helmet categories.
They have recently strengthened their position as market leaders in helmet safety through the acquisition of Koroyd, a leading brand in its niche with 40 employees and operations in Monaco.
Mips currently has its headquarters in Täby, but will move in December 2026 to new, fresh, and larger premises centrally located in Solna, where their testing facility will also be located. A large part of global helmet production takes place in China, which is why Mips has a wholly-owned subsidiary working close to customers' factories. In total, Mips currently has just over 100 employees working in sales, research and development, production, and administration, of which approximately 80 are based at the headquarters.
Mips is now looking for a Testlab Technician where you will become part of a young team of driven individuals who together are responsible for supporting other engineering teams and ensuring that Mips' testing facility continues to be world-leading.
What we offer
- An innovative company working on an international playing field
- Join a young company with great development opportunities within the organization
- Developing work with a broad area of responsibility
- Beneficial wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK
- A free Mips helmet per year
A great group of colleagues who are always on the move – perhaps you are keen on a gym session, joining the running club, or taking a bike ride during lunch? Do you prefer the book club or perhaps joining the yoga sessions held every other week? Mips culture is strong and we ensure everyone gets along!
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be part of the Testlab team that operates and drives Mips' world-leading Testlab where all innovations and new products are tested before reaching the market. The team works together with research and development departments to evaluate new products, standards, and helmet models. The customers include some of the largest helmet manufacturers around the world as well as small startups where Mips products are integrated. Mips also works for safer helmets by being part of standardization committees worldwide and developing new products. Your role in this chain will be to support with varying tasks such as:
- Testing/Quality Control and Evaluation: Perform and analyze quality controls/tests on helmets/products according to a specified list, report results and suggestions for improvement to the responsible engineer.
- Maintenance and further development of Mips Testlab: Mips has a world-leading test lab within helmet testing that is under constant development. You will be the key person in identifying and implementing improvements and ensuring the lab is always in top shape, as well as helping the R&D teams develop new methods and machines for testing – both in CAD and physical construction.
- Prototype Building: Assist as needed with building prototypes in the workshop and improve and run the prototype workshop together with the Testlab team and other R&D teams.
- Coordination and Support: Act as a coordinator and support for other engineering teams, including work with 3D printing and CAD, and ensure that necessary tools and equipment are available.
We are looking for someone who
- Has completed high school with a technical focus or has a post-secondary education as a civil engineer in a relevant field.
- Has a strong interest in technology and enjoys a varied daily routine where a large part of the work is hands-on in Mips Testlab or the workshop.
- Is meticulous and has an eye for detail, as well as understanding mechanical relationships.
- Experience working in CAD with Solidworks is considered an advantage.
- Speaks and writes fluently in English and Swedish.
To succeed in the role, you have the following personal qualities:
As a person, you are curious, driven, and hungry for knowledge! You like to get things done and juggle multiple tasks. You enjoy having a social job with global contacts while also using your technical skills. You are used to taking independent responsibility for your tasks and maintaining engagement despite setbacks. If you, like many in the team, have an interest in cycling, skiing, or similar activities, you will thrive here.
