Sjöfruskolan is located in the residential area of Tomtebo in the eastern part of Umeå. The school was expanded with more adapted lesson rooms and a new school restaurant in the autumn term of 2024, offering preschool class to grade 6, including an after-school center. We learn, collaborate, and take responsibility for a sustainable lifestyle and world. We enjoy ourselves and build the future together. This vision is highly alive in everyday life and is demonstrated, among other things, by the fact that all children are everyone's children and that all educators throughout the school take responsibility for ensuring that all children reach the goals.

We are now looking for a primary school teacher for textile crafts!

Employment Information

The position is a full-time temporary assignment, starting from 2026-08-10 to 2027-06-16.

Your Responsibilities

You will teach our students in grades 4–6 in textile crafts. In collaboration with the work team and colleagues, you are responsible for driving and developing the pedagogical work with the curriculum and municipal goals as a guide. Contact and collaboration with parents is an important part of the work. Resource support in classroom teaching may also occur.

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well-versed in the school's governing documents. You differentiate and vary the teaching based on the students' needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collegial learning. An important part of the teacher's role is to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Trained textile crafts teacher
• Has/applied for teacher certification
• Experience teaching textile crafts
• Fluent proficiency in Swedish (spoken and written) and good knowledge of English
• Valid extract from the criminal record

Meritorious

• Experience teaching in grades 4–6
