Ersboda Adapted Primary School is located at Östra Ersboda and Ersängsskolan. Ersängsskolan is situated at Östra Ersboda and is a multicultural school covering preschool class to grade 9. There are approximately 400 students in total at the school. It also features an adapted primary school focusing on subject areas for grades 1-6, as well as resource classes for the entire municipality. We have one of Sweden's best school libraries, and nearby there is a football field and an adventure playground.

Östra Ersbodaskolan is a small, dynamic school with preschool class up to grade 3, as well as an adapted primary school for grades 1-6. Competent staff work here alongside students from many different cultures. There are excellent opportunities for outdoor activities. The library, football field, and all-weather running track are located right next to the school. The school is situated in the residential area of Östra Ersboda, where many cultures and nationalities are represented.

We are now looking for two student assistants!

The positions are for temporary assignments, full-time from 2026-08-03 to 2027-06-18.

Your Responsibilities

As a student assistant at the adapted primary school, your main task is to support students with special needs in their learning, development, and daily activities. You work to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that enables every student to reach their full potential.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support in teaching: Assist students during lessons by providing extra explanations and help with tasks.
  • Accompany students on study visits, excursions, and other school-related activities to provide necessary support.
  • Pedagogical support: Provide support to students with cognitive, motor, or communication difficulties. Encourage and help students to participate in classroom activities and social interaction.
  • Practical support: Assist with personal needs, such as eating, dressing, mobility, or other daily routines, if required. Provide support to help students follow routines and structure during the school day.
  • Support students during breaks and other leisure activities to ensure safety and social interaction.
  • Social and emotional support: Work to promote students' self-confidence and independence. Handle conflicts and situations where students need extra emotional support, and collaborate with other staff as needed. Support students in developing social skills, communication, and interaction with others.

This job description can naturally be adapted depending on the student group, but it provides a basic overview of the most common tasks for a student assistant/resource within the adapted primary school.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A completed upper secondary education
  • At least 1 year of experience working with young people/children/students with intellectual disabilities.
  • A valid extract from the criminal record.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.

Experience working in preschool is considered an asset.

You are a secure adult and a good role model. You also have the ability to connect with the students. You see each individual and create a safe environment at school, collaborating with others to achieve set goals. As a person, you are flexible, clear, and structured. You enjoy working with children in need of special support, as you are a very important part of their school day. You have good teamwork skills, are perceptive, and find it easy to communicate and collaborate with students and other key professional groups for the target group. You have good cooperation skills and a professional attitude towards the children, relatives, and other actors around the students. You are engaged and willing to share our values, work towards set goals, and engage in continuous improvement. Personal suitability is of great importance to us.

Lifting heavy objects may occur at the workplace.
