Job Description

Your main task is to work with admissions to the university's courses and programs at both the first and second cycles. The work involves assessing academic and upper secondary qualifications from Sweden and other countries. The role of admissions officer entails a high degree of responsibility and independent work, but you are also part of a team of officers who work closely together. The job includes providing support and information to national and international applicants as well as employees at other authorities by phone and email.

Communication takes place in both Swedish and English. As part of the position, you may also perform other common tasks within the section related to various assignments for the section. You are also expected to actively participate in the work to further develop the section's operations and administrative processes.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English. Additional language skills are meritorious.
  • Previous experience of working in higher education administration; with case handling and/or authority tasks.

Experience from admissions handling, rule application and eligibility assessment, as well as experience of the study administrative systems used at the University of Gothenburg, such as LADOK and NyA, is meritorious.

To succeed in this work, you must be flexible and have a developed sense of service, as the work involves many contacts with applicants and employees within the university. The work is carried out in teams, so good teamwork skills and the ability to work both independently and in a group are necessary.

The tasks place high demands on accuracy and the work is carried out periodically under time pressure, which also places demands on good planning and organizational skills. Good computer literacy is also assumed, and you see the computer as a tool in daily work. The section encourages the development of joint work with the support of digital aids such as AI. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Employment

The positions are temporary with a scope of 100% (full time) with placement at the Admissions Section, Education Unit. The positions are available from 2026-09-01 or as agreed.
