We always have a range of interesting projects underway; some examples from recent years include the Sara Cultural House in Skellefteå, Morefields Eye Hospital in London, and the highly current Arena project in Gothenburg.

We are now looking to strengthen our team and are seeking a Cost Estimator for our office in Gothenburg.

The role of Cost Estimator at White involves working integrated into the office's projects from early stages to develop architecture, technical solutions, and functionality based on the project's cost and sustainability challenges, together with architects, building engineers, and others. You also work directly for external clients and perform estimations for them in both small and large projects. You have your own client contacts and are responsible for creating new business and assignments.

We see that you are comfortable with both making detailed estimates on finished construction documents and having the flexibility and finesse required to deliver estimates in early stages with uncertain or unfinished documents. The role involves performing estimates within both construction, ground, climate, and environment. As a cost estimator with us, you will work in all stages of projects and with different building types, such as healthcare, housing, offices, education, and landscape.

As a person, you are strategic, creative, and dare to challenge the projects, but also meticulous and focused. You take responsibility for driving your work forward, planning, prioritizing, and achieving results with great business acumen and credibility. You have the ability to communicate the results of your work to your colleagues and clients. This means you hold a constructive dialogue about the project as a whole and its architectural values from a cost perspective.

You will work broadly together with competencies across the entire company and be part of a group consisting of experienced specialists in areas such as estimation, project management, design management, sustainability coordination, certifications, daylight, circular material flows, climate control, climate adaptation, and ecosystem services.

Your Profile

• We are looking for you who are educated as an architect, civil engineer, or university college engineer.
• You have at least ten years of work experience as a cost estimator within various types of construction projects.
• You have your own client contacts and are responsible for creating new business and assignments.
• You have experience leading and being responsible for estimation assignments towards the client, also in collaboration with several estimators.
• You have worked with all parts of the construction process, from early sketches to finished construction documents.
• You have good knowledge of the Office package and digital estimation tools.
• You have the ability to clearly communicate and discuss the results of your work, and convey this with great business acumen, credibility, and confidence.
• You are accustomed to working together with a large number of different competencies and can lead collaboration and dialogue about costs related to other values, for example architectural ones.
• Good knowledge of various certification systems.
• You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both in speech and writing.

Merits

• Experience with incremental/step-by-step estimations.
• Experience working at a contracting company.
• Experience performing climate calculations, life cycle analyses, CO2 calculations.
• Experience working in Bluebeam and Revit (or similar software).
• Experience calculating with buildings with timber frames.
• Experience working with estimations in the UK, Germany, or Norway.
