With clients such as Lamborghini and AstraZeneca, Gothenburg-based AGVE has established itself as a leading global player in AGV solutions. We are now looking for a Director Engineering, a strategic role focused on shaping workflows, driving our technical culture, and acting as the mechanical architect for how we build and deliver our products in a global market.

About the Role

AGVE is an international company providing AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) solutions. Since our founding in 1985, we have delivered over 4,000 autonomous vehicles. As part of the Japanese Murata Group, which is heavily invested in automation, we offer a holistic solution ranging from design to commissioning.

As Director Engineering, you will drive the transformation of our working methods and processes within the engineering organization, with a focus on customer deliveries. You will be responsible for ensuring delivery precision, efficient resource planning, and building a strong culture of accountability. The role includes personnel management for a portion of our current engineering organization and a strategic position on the leadership team. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our customer-specific projects and deliveries, working closely with production, with a particular focus on mechanical design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Drive change initiatives to improve processes and working methods
  • Ensure operational delivery, resource planning, and prioritization
  • Work closely with production and quality assurance
  • Responsible for employee development and coaching
  • Monitor project budgets and KPIs to optimize efficiency

Requirements and Expected Competencies

  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education
  • Several years of experience in a leadership role within engineering
  • Documented experience in personnel management and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design, preferably in products where mechanics and electronics interact
  • Particularly strong experience in mechanical design and product development of physical products
  • Experience driving operational delivery, resource planning, and prioritization in a technical organization
  • Proven ability to work closely with production, industrialization, quality, and delivery
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Merits

  • Good experience with the economic aspects of project execution
  • Experience in electrical engineering and/or mechatronics
  • Experience in development or R&D in an international environment
