About AFRY

AFRY offers services within engineering, design, digitalization, and consulting. We are dedicated experts within industry, energy, and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has Nordic roots with a global reach. Our shared principles – Result driven, Client centric, Empowering, and Accountable – guide how we work, develop, and succeed together. Join us in accelerating the transition to a sustainable society.

Job Description

In our Electrical Power section, we work as a specialist group within power systems. Here, you are part of a team that works from the idea stage through to completed projects and finished facilities within the industrial sector. We work together, enjoy learning from each other, and find ways to make work fun.

We drive advanced power system projects for our external clients, ranging from heavy petrochemical operations to vehicle development/manufacturing to complex hospital facilities. We also support the various divisions within AFRY with our specialist expertise in power systems. This means we are present throughout AFRY's entire customer base, which is incredibly exciting.

In the role of Power Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in our organization and our power system projects. You will work with our customers throughout the region, as well as be part of projects driven in-house. Among other things, you will have the opportunity to work with:

  • Preparation of tender documents for low and medium voltage switchgear.
  • Investigations and feasibility studies.
  • Technical consulting.
  • Network calculations and selectivity plans.

You will also have the opportunity to act as a project manager, which entails independent customer and budget responsibility for projects. There are also good opportunities to work in other power system-related areas such as relay testing, measurement and analysis of power quality, as well as inspection.

Qualifications

Personal competencies are highly valued by us to ensure you thrive and succeed in the role.

We are looking for you who have a solution-oriented approach and can adapt to different situations, conditions, and challenges. You are pragmatic in your working method, take the initiative to find ways forward, and see opportunities even when not everything is in place from the start.

To thrive with us, it is also important that you have a strong customer focus. You are attentive to the customer's needs, build trusting relationships, and take responsibility for providing a professional and positive experience in every interaction. Through your engagement and service mindset, you contribute to long-term collaborations and satisfied customers.

What knowledge and experience do you need?

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in power systems.
  • Several years of professional experience in power systems, preferably with previous experience as a designer or project manager.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B).
  • Excellent proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as communication with customers and colleagues is a natural part of the job.

Merits

  • Experience in contract law, AMA standards, and AutoCAD, as well as familiarity with technical documentation and report writing.
  • Experience working in calculation programs such as Febdok or other network calculation programs.
  • Practical experience working as a service/industrial electrician.

Since our services may operate in security-classified areas, drug testing and security clearance may be required before employment can commence. For all recruitments at AFRY, an ID check, reference checks, and verification of education are always conducted as a baseline before employment.

Additional Information

Collective agreements and employee benefits such as flextime and salary top-up during parental leave, etc., for all our employees.

What our employees appreciate most among our benefits are the fitness offers and the employee association Club AFRY. Through Club AFRY, we offer a wide variety of interesting leisure activities and the opportunity to have fun with colleagues outside of work, such as cultural and sports events, book clubs, choirs, cabin rentals, sports activities, etc.

We warmly welcome your application! The last day for applications is August 16.

If you have questions regarding the position, please contact: Group Manager Fredrik Veermets via: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected])

However, during the summer, feedback may take slightly longer than usual due to holiday periods. We look forward to receiving your application and will get back to you as soon as we return.

We kindly decline direct contact from staffing and recruitment agencies as well as sellers of additional job advertisements.

At AFRY, we drive change in everything we do. We believe change happens when bold ideas meet, when we collaborate, create innovation, and embrace creative solutions; this is how we create the future. We are constantly seeking qualified candidates who wish to join our inclusive teams around the world. Become part of us and accelerate the green transition.
