We are an early-stage robotics startup developing cyber-hardened unmanned vehicles to protect critical infrastructure.

About the Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the architecture of our first unmanned ground vehicle and have direct influence over the final product. This is a foundational role offering exceptional ownership of the design – from modular powertrains and IP67 sealing systems to product integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks/Inventor
• Design modular powertrain interfaces and robust IP67 sealing solutions for sensor gimbals and chassis
• Perform center-of-gravity analyses and produce STEP/IGES files, Bills of Materials (BOM), and technical documentation
• Participate in rapid iteration cycles and joint design reviews
• Travel for field tests to validate the design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering – international degrees are welcome
• Excellent CAD skills: complex assemblies, parametric modeling, welded structures, and sheet metal design
• Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles for welded steel and aluminum structures
• Ability to derive design requirements from technical specifications and reference materials
• Professional proficiency in English (both written and spoken); Swedish is not required
• Experience with thermal design, electromechanical packaging, or weight optimization for performance-critical systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of sealing design for IP65 and higher (seal grooves, cable glands, tolerance control)
• Academic or project experience in robotics, industrial automation, or vehicle systems
• Basic knowledge of structural analysis or FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
