The University of Gothenburg's School of Drama, Music and Media is part of the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts. We offer highly specialized educational programs in an outward-looking and international environment. The institution educates musicians in several genres, composers, musical artists, teachers of music, dance and theatre, opera singers, performance artists and actors, and has just over 600 students and nearly 200 employees. Our unique breadth of subjects provides both students and staff with the prerequisites for a broader artistic perspective and opportunities to explore new ways of working and research fields.

We are now looking for an Orchestra Coordinator.
Job Description
The overall responsibilities are to plan, coordinate and carry out activities within larger ensemble playing (opera, symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra and repertoire class). Coordination includes planning and implementation of each project in collaboration with existing orchestra coordinators.
In collaboration with other staff, you will specifically work with:
- Planning of larger ensemble projects in consultation with the unit manager, program coordinator, orchestra coordinator and musical director for the orchestra master's program. This also includes contact with conductors, soloists, instrumental teachers and students.
- Engage visiting students (Nordplus and Erasmus)/freelance musicians as needed in consultation with the existing orchestra coordinator, unit manager and international officer.
- Collaborate with technical staff regarding the planning and implementation of projects.
- Collaborate with producers in connection with opera productions.
Qualifications
You must have:
- An artistic background as a musician and experience of working professionally in an orchestra and/or larger ensemble.
- Experience of being responsible for, as well as implementing, larger productions.
The work requires good teamwork skills, flexibility, the ability to solve work tasks independently in a structured and service-oriented manner, and to contribute to a positive common workplace. You are calm and pedagogical in stressful situations. You need to be good at making contacts and communicating both orally and in writing in Swedish and English. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
