About the Role

The Adult Education program is part of Kunskapsförbundet Väst. At the library, you will work alongside an experienced librarian. We offer a varied, developmental, fun, and important job in a fantastic learning environment with wonderful students, ranging from SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) to university students.

Our organization includes four school libraries that operate according to a common library plan. The goal is to support students in achieving their learning objectives. Our two main tasks are to promote reading and to enhance students' media and information literacy.

The library is part of the pedagogical hub in the school. In collaboration with other staff, we contribute to our students reaching their goals. The school library is a pedagogical resource that, together with our skilled educators, works on teaching in both short and long-term projects. We teach information search, source criticism, and reference management. Book talks are an important part of our operations; we conduct them in both Swedish and English, at all levels from SFI to upper secondary courses.

At the adult education center, our students study SFI, basic and upper secondary levels, vocational courses and programs, as well as university college programs. Does this sound exciting?

Qualifications

• A university degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent librarian education.
• You are social and outgoing.
• You have good knowledge of literature.
• You have knowledge of social media and digital tools.

Merits

• Experience with Book-it is an advantage but not a requirement.

• Have worked in a library before – preferably in a school library.
