About Us
To work even more effectively from Södra Älvsborg Hospital's (SÄS) holistic perspective, an organizational change has been implemented, where the secretariat function has been organized into a unit together with other units. The staff department's task is to work from strategic and operational perspectives regarding efficient administration, with the entire SÄS as the client. As part of the whole, the staff works with continuous improvements to develop together with the operations. To be responsive to the operations' demand and needs, we need to think in a development-oriented manner with a focus on goals and results.
The secretariat function is organized within the Leadership and Communication unit and has overall responsibility for case handling and case preparation for the political level, board administration, legal matters, register and document management, as well as administrative services. The unit is a central part of SÄS governance and contributes to ensuring that operations are conducted in a legally secure, efficient, and safe manner.
About Our Vacant Position
As Chief of Staff (Kanslichef), you will have a central role with responsibility for the hospital's case preparation, and you will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and developing the political case and decision-making processes. You are process responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of meetings with the board and union cooperation at the hospital-wide level. Strategic leadership, quality assurance of processes within case and document management, including the legal process, is part of the responsibility. The secretariat function is also responsible for the overall legal advice within the hospital, as well as the development of the hospital's routines and working methods regarding the registration of public documents and other authority-wide obligations according to law.
As Chief of Staff, you are responsible for, lead, and develop the work within the function.
You report to the Head of Staff Department and are part of the staff department's leadership group. The role collaborates directly with the Administrative Director and Operational Director in certain areas. You work in close collaboration with operational leadership and other functional responsible managers. You work cross-functionally and have a broad network within the entire organization.
Your Profile
You have several years of experience working as a manager or in other leadership positions within secretariat operations and have worked within public operations. You have knowledge of and experience working with governing regulations such as the Local Government Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, and the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act.
We are looking for you who has an academic degree that the employer deems adequate for the assignment, for example, in law, public administration, or political science. As a person, you have strategic ability, good holistic vision, and a well-developed delivery capability. You carry your assignment independently, have a high ability to structure and prioritize, and enjoy switching between operational, tactical, and strategic levels. You have experience and ability to independently prepare and handle cases and assignments. You will have extensive contact surfaces within and outside SÄS, which places demands on clear and communicative leadership. You are an open-minded, non-hierarchical, and trustworthy person who creates good relationships, and can and want to lead an organization in change. We place great importance on personal suitability.

About the Recruitment Process
Interviews are planned for Week 31. In this recruitment process, you do not need to attach a cover letter. Instead, you will be asked to answer some questions about your experience. In a later part of the recruitment process, work psychological tests will be conducted.
