We are looking for a Technical Engineer in Natural Environment for Trafikverket (The Swedish Transport Administration).

This is a consulting assignment based in Kristianstad. The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork skills.

The Assignment

You will work as a Technical Engineer and Assistant Environmental Specialist within natural environment issues. Your role is to support operations regarding natural environment matters related to Trafikverket's road and railway infrastructure. The role involves case processing, follow-up, inventory support, authority cases, and participation in the development of working methods, routines, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support and processing of emerging natural environment issues from operations.
• Preparing documentation for the procurement of base contracts and supporting operations during procurement processes.
• Follow-up on the effectiveness of fauna measures, data collection, and compilation.
• Review of natural environment requirements at kick-off meetings based on internal control documents and guidelines.
• Support in ordering and conducting permit and baseline inventories.
• Participation in work with regulations and answering questions from the public.
• Participation in strategic work, including evaluating working methods and routines.
• Preparing documentation for targeted environmental measures and measures in maintenance plans.
• Authority cases, including Section 12:6 consultations, dispensations, and permits.

Requirements (OBS, mandatory)

• A university degree of 180 credits in biology, ecology, or landscape science, or another education combined with experience that Trafikverket deems relevant for the assignment.
• At least one (1) year of work experience handling natural environment issues. The experience must not be older than three (3) years.
• Basic knowledge of ArcGIS Pro.
• Basic knowledge of the Environmental Code (Miljöbalken).
• Good ability to communicate in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
• Current safety training for work on roads.
• At least one (1) year of experience with inventory work in infrastructure environments, within roads and railways.
• At least one (1) year of experience with case filing and handling databases for environmental phenomena, for example.
• Valid driver's license for passenger cars in Sweden.
