About the role and your responsibilities

We are now looking for a permanent carpenter to join the Technical Group within the Urban Development Administration in Lund Municipality. We offer a varied job with tasks including maintenance of park and playground equipment, and construction of various event elements such as stages, wooden decks, fences, and planting boxes. The position involves both manual and machine-based work. Working hours are 07:00–15:45. You will be part of a work group, collaborating with colleagues as well as working independently.

On-call duties may be included in the role.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for you who have relevant education in construction with a focus on carpentry, furniture and fine woodworking, or other equivalent education. You have at least 1–2 years of work experience in the carpentry trade and good practical knowledge of carpentry machines, material selection, load-bearing capacity, and dimensions.

Good proficiency in Swedish (spoken and written) and a B-driver's license for manual transmission vehicles are requirements for the employment.

As a person, you are service-oriented and can work both independently and collaboratively. You have a positive and solution-oriented attitude. You care about a good working climate and actively contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.

About the workplace

The Park and Landscape Unit manages the parks and green areas of Lund's villages, all of the municipality's allotment and cultivation areas, as well as the Technical Group to which we are now recruiting a carpenter. We work with the citizen in focus and strive to deliver the best outdoor environment for the residents of Lund. The unit is part of the Street, Park and Nature Department, which manages the municipality's roads, tramways, parks, playgrounds, allotment and cultivation areas, and nature areas.

The Technical Group works with various elements in the city, such as public toilets, fountains, septic tank chambers, and constructs much of the event structures visible in the city, for example for Summer and Winter Lund.

The Urban Development Administration is responsible for a broad operation covering the entire urban development process. With approximately 350 engaged and competent employees, we work with everything from city planning, land management, and development to building permits, environmental supervision, and nature conservation. We develop and manage the public environment and contribute to sustainable urban development that includes outdoor recreation, water care, and nature protection.
