- Housekeeper/Housemaster for Maria Church – Järfälla Parish
Housekeeper/Housemaster for Maria Church – Järfälla Parish
Järfälla församlingStockholms län, Järfälla
Previous experience is desired
Järfälla Parish is one of Stockholm's larger parishes with approximately 30,000 members. The parish employs around 90 people, and its geographical boundaries are the same as Järfälla Municipality. Within the parish, there are four churches, a funeral chapel, and two cemeteries.
About the Parish
We want to be an open and vibrant parish for everyone in Järfälla, constantly striving to develop our activities to meet people where they are. Our employees are engaged and enjoy their work. We welcome interns and participate in development projects with other parishes as well as with the surrounding society.
We value employees with diverse experiences and backgrounds, as we believe this makes us better equipped to meet parishioners, members, choir singers, worship participants, and everyone else – at the cemeteries, in services, in the café, or in any of our other activities. Our guiding principles are openness, goodwill, order, credibility, and accessibility, and we strive to realize these in our work and interactions.
We are a workplace that places great importance on well-being, good health, and a balance between work and leisure. We have a collective agreement, offer lunch benefits, health subsidies, and a health hour, organized fitness sessions with our health consultant, and access to a gym.
About the Position
The kitchen in Maria Church is a central part of our operations and a natural meeting place for visitors, parishioners, and employees. Here, we prepare food with care and commitment. As the housekeeper/housemaster, you will be responsible for planning and preparing traditional Swedish home cooking with vegetarian options for our lunch café four days a week, as well as baking and supplying the café with sandwiches and pastries appreciated by our regular guests. The kitchen also receives orders for simple catering for internal activities, and you will play a key role in ensuring these deliveries maintain high quality.
The role also includes mentoring volunteers and individuals undergoing work training with us, where you contribute both your professional knowledge and social engagement.
You will work closely with the kitchen's housekeeper and housemaster, and be part of a flat-hierarchy team where we help each other and get things done together. We are a total of 15 employees, each contributing different skills, and who enjoy working in an environment where we see and help each other.
The position is permanent. We apply a probationary period.
The position is scheduled on weekdays during daytime hours (latest until 6 PM). On a few holidays during the year, work on weekends/holidays may occur.
Start date is by agreement.
Your workplace will be at Maria Church, Vasavägen 25, in central Jakobsberg, close to public transport connections with both commuter trains and buses.
