We are now looking for a Research Assistant within Urban Development and Logistics.

About the job

As part of the research project Disruption-Free City, we collect large amounts of data regarding mobility and logistics. The position of Research Assistant will support the handling, processing, analysis, and visualization of mobility and logistics data. The work includes both descriptive and exploratory analysis of, for example, mobile network data, public transport data, and sensor data from the municipality's traffic sensors. The work will be carried out in collaboration with both senior researchers and doctoral students in the field.

About you

You have completed an advanced level degree within transport systems or completed courses totaling at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 credits are at advanced level, or have otherwise acquired substantially equivalent knowledge.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, takes responsibility for your tasks, and drives your processes forward with great persistence to achieve results. We also value good collaboration skills, where you are receptive to your surroundings and communicate well.

You are a problem solver who works well with complex issues, understands complicated written materials, and produces high-quality documents. Furthermore, you have a good understanding of numerical data and solve numerical tasks quickly and easily.

We want you to have:

• Advanced level education within the transport field
• Experience in programming in Python or Matlab
• Experience working with machine learning
• Experience with GIS tools

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in data-driven analysis of transport systems

Great importance will be attached to personal qualities and suitability.

Your workplace

You will work at the Division of Communication and Transport Systems within the research area of Urban Development and Logistics.

About the employment

Fixed-term employment for five months, part-time 60%.

Start date as agreed.

The position may be placed in a security class. If so, a security investigation with register check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
