Our Operations

Women's Health includes the Obstetrics Section and the Gynecology Section, including the Reproduction Center. Akademiska sjukhuset is a university hospital, and we provide both outpatient and inpatient care for the Region and Uppsala County. We have high research activity and a significant educational responsibility. Our collaboration with the Department of Women's and Children's Health at Uppsala University is good and rewarding. At the Reproduction Center of Akademiska sjukhuset, investigations for involuntary childlessness are performed. We also perform most types of fertility treatment, such as ovulation stimulation, inseminations, IVF treatments, fertility-preserving treatments, as well as egg and sperm donation treatments. We investigate and treat both male and female infertility.

At the Reproduction Center, a large multidisciplinary team with long experience in advanced reproductive medicine treatment works with good results. We have regular, joint donation, physician, and ward meetings and collaborate across professional boundaries.

Your Role

The position is adapted based on your previous experience. If the applicant is a subspecialist in reproductive medicine, the work will include everything that is part of a subspecialist physician's competence, including egg retrieval, embryo transfer, reproductive clinic, and the opportunity to perform or learn to perform testis biopsy/micro-TESE. If the applicant is a specialist physician in obstetrics and gynecology with an interest in, but no or little previous experience in, reproductive medicine, a longer introduction to reproductive medicine and gynecological ultrasound is included (many of our colleagues are trained in advanced gynecological ultrasound). There is an opportunity to have a gynecological-endocrinological clinic under good supervision.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a specialist physician in obstetrics and gynecology, with either subspecialist competence in reproductive medicine or an interest in reproductive medicine, for a 12-month temporary position at the Reproduction Center. For those with an interest, there are very good opportunities to learn a great deal within reproductive medicine and gain good merits for a future subspecialist application.

We would appreciate it if you have an interest in research and pedagogical merits.

At the Reproduction Center, colleagues rely heavily on each other to solve problems and drive development together. Development in the field is moving forward quickly, and new working methods are implemented continuously. Therefore, it is important that you, as an applicant, are creative, collaborative, and curious.

A one-year full-time temporary position at the Reproduction Center. Introduction and supervision by an experienced subspecialist in reproductive medicine based on your needs. On-call duties are included.
