Our Operations

We are located just a few minutes' walk from Uppsala Central Station, at Samariterhemmet's Care Centre. Here, we receive patients who undergo surgery on our operating department, with care times varying from a couple of hours to two days. You will meet patients with various surgical diagnoses.

The department operates Monday to Friday and consists of four operating rooms, an admission unit, a post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), and a ward with six beds. The ward (inpatient care) is open from Tuesday to Friday. We are a positive group working closely together to continuously develop our care and provide professional treatment to our patients.

Your Role

We offer you an stimulating work environment with varied planned surgery and great opportunities for professional development as a nurse. At our facility, you will receive personalized onboarding tailored to your previous experience. You will become part of a skilled team that supports and helps each other, while also working independently. Your tasks will vary between admission, the PACU, and the ward.

You will work standard hours Monday to Friday, with approximately two evenings per week and occasionally some night shifts.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a registered nurse. You thrive in teamwork, are flexible, take responsibility for your tasks, and drive work forward with the patient in focus. We prefer candidates with experience in postoperative surgical nursing and who enjoy working independently. Personal suitability is of great importance.

We offer a permanent position within the Department of Anesthesia, Surgery and Intensive Care (AnOpIVA) with a primary placement at Samariterhemmet. Probation may apply.
