About the Unit

The Multilingualism Unit organizes mother tongue instruction, study guidance, and reception of newly arrived students. The teachers at the unit teach in 24 different languages.

Through collegial learning, we continuously strive to improve and develop pedagogical practice. Our focus is on pedagogical development, professionalism, and job satisfaction. The unit has meeting rooms and workspaces at Torpskolan, centrally located in Lerum and easily accessible by train/bus.

Responsibilities

1 position(s).

Your assignment includes teaching students in the mother tongue Romani (Kelderasch) for both primary school and upper secondary school. Study guidance may also be part of the role.

You participate with motivation and enthusiasm in meetings and competence development relevant to your professional learning.

You plan, implement, evaluate, and develop pedagogical work both independently and together with the work team.

The work team meets once a week for collegial learning and development of the operations, where you practice, test, and share. The unit is divided into forum groups to create participation in the unit's common goal picture.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a positive force at work and have an easy time creating and maintaining good social relationships with those you meet, such as colleagues, students, and guardians. You are developmental in your leadership and employee relations.

You are flexible in your pedagogical approach and meet students with respect, encouragement, and high expectations. In meetings with pedagogical staff at schools, you are collaborative and solution-oriented while being skilled at communicating what your assignment entails.

Requirements:

  • You have didactic knowledge in Romani (Kelderasch) and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Mother tongue teacher certification is desirable. For a permanent position, a teacher certification is required.
  • At least upper secondary education or equivalent is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of the steering documents of the Swedish school system.
  • The work requires that you are experienced in handling digital tools.

Merits:

  • University courses in education.
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Driver's license and access to a car are desirable as part of the position is mobile.
