Are you looking for the next step in your career where you can combine your understanding of building technology with strong operational leadership? Do you thrive in a coordinating role where structure, schedules, and financial follow-up are in focus rather than pure drawings? Then the role of Project Manager at OBOS might be perfect for you!

About the role

OBOS is one of the leading housing developers in the Nordics. The member-owned organization builds everything from single-family homes and terraced houses to apartments, with the goal of safely realizing housing dreams in both Sweden and Norway.

Within OBOS, the B2B segment is growing, focusing on business development and acquiring projects from external clients – everything from total contracts to smaller component and partial deliveries to production. To keep the production segment together and ensure that projects are executed with the highest quality, we are now looking for a Project Manager based in Jönköping, Växjö, or Vetlanda.

In larger projects, there are project owners and management on site, but you will become the hub that holds the actual production together. You act as the bridge between the business segment and production, driving issues regarding capacity, schedules, and quality in close collaboration with internal and external parties. Depending on the nature of the business, you will act in different ways and to varying degrees, making the role both varied and dynamic. You will lead and follow up on the work for a production team of varying size.

The role is perfect for you who perhaps currently work as a designer, constructor, or project engineer and want to take the next natural development step towards greater operational and administrative responsibility. To succeed and thrive in the role, we see that you are a communicative team player who finds it easy to create structure in complex environments. You are confident in your technical assessments and have a strong business-oriented and solution-focused attitude.

What we offer

  • A key role in one of the leading housing development companies in the Nordics.
  • Great opportunities to influence and structure the production flow.
  • A strong corporate culture characterized by collaboration, business acumen, and a forward-looking spirit.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you are the operational leader who drives the Production part of the project all the way from contract to delivery. You are the face of the entire production in the projects and ensure that deliveries occur according to contract, schedule, quality, and economy.

Your main areas of responsibility include:

  • Project start-up and establishment: Establish the production organization and initiate and coordinate activities for designers, project engineers, and factories.
  • Planning and coordination: Lead production issues in design meetings and coordinate internal questions between construction, design, and factory to secure progress in ongoing projects.
  • Delivery and quality responsibility: Ensure that deliveries occur according to technical specifications and requirements and drive quality assurance in the flows.
  • Financial follow-up and Changes/Variations: Follow up on hours, consultant costs, as well as material and factory production. You are responsible for the technical and economic assessment of changes and variations (C&V) and communicate status to relevant stakeholders.
  • External collaboration and procurement: Act as the main contact person towards the client's contracting organization. Handle procurement of external consultants, tenders.

We are looking for you who

We believe you are a person who thrives in a role characterized by administrative tasks and which requires structure. You have a clear sense of responsibility, are decisive, and dare to stand up for the business's sake in different forums.

  • Have a technical degree in construction or engineering.
  • Good building technology skills and good ability to read and assess technical documents.
  • Experience working with schedules, project forms, and leading projects/processes.
  • Good understanding of the construction process, contract issues, and basic contracting law.
  • Communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you have

  • Experience from working as a designer or constructor.
  • Experience driving projects in the implementation phase.
  • Experience from manufacturing industry within construction.

To succeed in the role, you have the following personal qualities:

  • Goal-oriented
  • Organized
  • Stable
  • Socially self-confident
