We are now looking for a Senior Materials Engineer within underwater technology. The assignment is part of an advanced development and production program where you will work closely with both design and production on material-related issues.

This is initially a 12-month consultancy assignment via Unik Resurs, with good prospects for extension.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work with qualification, investigation, and development related to materials and processes in additive manufacturing. You will become a key specialist resource responsible for ensuring the functionality, strength, and lifespan of materials based on set requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct investigations and qualifications related to materials and processes.
• Assess the suitability of materials based on requirements such as strength and lifespan.
• Support design and production in case of technical deviations and problem-solving.
• Prepare reports and requirement documents for material processes in production.
• Educate and support staff in the handling and application of materials.
• Monitor developments in new materials and methods to contribute to technical development and improvement.

Your Profile

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of experience in materials engineering.
• Extensive competence in additive manufacturing (AM).
• Good understanding of material functionality, properties, and associated processes.
• Relevant academic degree in chemistry, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with technical investigations and qualification work.
• Ability to document and produce technical reports and requirement documents.
• Very good proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working close to production and applying materials in an industrial environment.

This position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance checks applicable at the time. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may in some cases entail citizenship requirements.
