Role Description

As a Datacenter Platform Specialist at Tekniska verken, you will work with critical IT platforms in our own data centers, where stable operations, security, and high availability are crucial. You will operate in an on-premise environment with virtualization, storage, and backup (VMware, SAN/NAS, and backup/restore systems), focusing on continuity and robustness.

A central part of the role is also your involvement in bringing IT operations in from an external provider, as well as your contribution to building a strong internal IT operational capability. You will simultaneously drive modernization and development towards increased automation, standardization, and resilience – without compromising operational security.

In the role, you will:

• Manage and further develop server and virtualization platforms
• Work with VMware and underlying infrastructure
• Develop storage and backup platforms
• Work with recovery strategies and continuity planning
• Ensure stability, performance, and availability
• Automate operational, backup, and recovery processes

In the role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues within the Digitalization Division, such as Cloud Engineers and IT Architects, as well as with technical suppliers.

The position is located at Tekniska verken's headquarters in central Linköping. On-call duties are included in the role.

Your Profile and Background

We are looking for you who is an experienced platform specialist within IT operations with a focus on data centers, virtualization, and resilience. As a person, you are proactive, engaged, and motivated by working with stable and business-critical IT environments, where you get to develop operations through increased automation and standardization.

In terms of experience, we are looking for you who:

• Has extensive experience in data center operations and virtualization, preferably within VMware or similar platforms
• Has practical experience with backup, restore, and recovery
• Understands the requirements in business-critical IT environments

Furthermore, fluent Swedish and English in both speech and writing are also required. As we are a security-classified operation, background checks will be conducted on the final candidate.
