Do you want to work with the fighter jets of the future? The Flight Autonomy section within Business Unit Advanced Programs Engineering needs to be strengthened with several employees to take the step towards the next generation of flight systems. This is an opportunity for you who want to take on interesting and challenging tasks where you get to collaborate with a great team.
Your Role
Our section is responsible for flight autonomy and as a Systems Engineer with us, you help develop safety-critical solutions for autonomous flight for both manned and unmanned aircraft. Autonomous flight, autonomous take-off and landing, contingency management, and collision avoidance are examples of safety-critical system capabilities you will work with.
The main responsibilities are:
- Develop and analyze system requirements
- Define system architecture and design, including algorithm development
- System integration (simulators, test rigs, flying platforms)
- Develop flight autonomous functions and work on algorithm development
- Define verification and validation strategy at the system level
- Verification and validation activities at the system level
- Monitor requirement coverage, test results, and flight tests for our projects
Your Profile
We are looking for you who are driven, accustomed to influencing, and taking significant personal responsibility. You have a strong analytical interest and are structured and meticulous. You have a high level of commitment and are a team player who is happy to share knowledge and experiences. Since the role may also involve contact with companies in other countries, you must be proficient in English in both speech and writing.
In addition to personal qualities, we believe you have:
- A Master of Science degree in fields such as technical physics, aerospace engineering, or computational mathematics.
- A few years of experience working as a systems engineer or with system development.
- An interest in flight dynamics, mathematics, and algorithm development.
- Experience with software architecture and programming is meritorious but not a requirement.

The position requires that you undergo and pass the security clearance assessment according to current regulations. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
