Social Secretary for Economic Assistance Unit in Oxelösund
In the archipelago city of Oxelösund, you have close access to housing, work, transport, services, nature, and the sea. The municipality, strategically located in eastern Sörmland, has 12,000 inhabitants and a rich cultural and association life. It is just over an hour to Stockholm and just under an hour to Norrköping. It is also short distance to the region's airport, the E4 highway, and the railway.
Oxelösund Municipality is a small municipality with big ambitions. We are curious, dare to find new solutions, think big thoughts, and come up with exciting ideas. To succeed, we work closely together. We collaborate and strive towards a common goal: to provide everyone living here with the best conditions for a good life. The closeness is evident in how we help each other and leverage each other's strengths. The proximity of departments and operations means there is never far between employees and management, leading to short decision-making paths and high efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Do you want to continue developing the Economic Assistance Unit together with us? Six social secretaries work in the unit, two of whom work as intake secretaries and four who continuously investigate ongoing economic assistance. The unit is led by a unit manager and a senior social secretary who provide support in daily work.
We work with a lower case volume where the goal and focus is that all applicants receive a plan for self-sufficiency. To help the individual towards self-sufficiency, there is "Drivhuset" (The Greenhouse), a collaboration arena where our job coaches work together with adult education and the Swedish Public Employment Service.
We are in an exciting phase of development and are now looking for a social secretary who wants to become part of an engaged team that feels a strong commitment to those we work for. In your role as a social secretary, you process applications for economic assistance, meaning you investigate, assess, and make decisions regarding the right to assistance according to the Social Services Act.
As support in the work, we have joint case reviews, individual supervision, and continuous review of legal precedents. We are looking for you who thrive in varied work in a changing environment where no two days are alike.
As an employee of Oxelösund Municipality, you are offered a generous flexible working hours agreement, allowing you to influence your own working hours. You are also offered the option to work half-days before red days (public holidays) and receive contributions to wellness programs. As a new employee, you are offered an introduction supported by engaged colleagues.
