Leading Mechanic for Nobina Västernorrland (Shift Work)

Nobina is an innovative company and was an early adopter of electrification. We introduced autonomous buses in regular traffic and were the first in the Nordics to implement Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) with 24-meter double-articulated buses.

We are now looking for a leader for the workshop in Sundsvall and the Västernorrland traffic area who can maintain order and ensure our buses run safely. Being a Lead Mechanic at Nobina is more than just a job – it is an exciting and varied career with plenty of opportunities for personal growth.

What does it mean to be a Lead Mechanic at Nobina?

Your primary responsibility will be to lead and distribute the daily work in the workshop, while also leading by example on the floor by coaching our mechanics and performing repairs, etc.

Other examples of tasks include:

• Ensuring work orders are correctly filled out.
• Correct withdrawal of spare parts during the shift.
• Optimizing workflow for maximum fleet availability.
• Supporting the Maintenance Manager in long-term planning.
• Ensuring efficiency among employees.
• Acting as a substitute for the Maintenance Manager.
• Responsible for workshop organization (5S).

In your role as a mechanic, you will perform services, repairs, and troubleshooting on our buses. Tasks such as wrapping, body repairs, and interior repairs also occur, for those with the skills. At Nobina, you are part of groundbreaking solutions, from on-demand services to advanced sustainability technology, including biofuels and electrified transport. Personal qualities and qualifications

To succeed in this role, we look for someone who meets stressful situations and environments with calm and confidence. You are outgoing and flexible, value collaboration with colleagues, but also thrive when working independently when required. To work as a Lead Mechanic with us, you also need:

• Experience in a leadership position. Preferably professional, but can also be within club life or similar.
• An automotive technical education or equivalent experience with heavy vehicles/buses.
• Proficiency in using computers to handle diagnostic programs, digital work orders, and maintenance instructions.
• A driver's license for passenger cars (Class B).

It is an extra merit if you have a C or D driver's license and an AC certificate.

Fossil fuels are being phased out in favor of electricity and biofuels. Electrification brings new challenges to workshops, so experience with modern technology and electric vehicles is a big plus!

About the position

The position is full-time with a location in Sundsvall. We apply a probation period and individual salary setting.
