About the Position
The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) is now looking for a Service Technician specializing in Electricity, Electronics, Motors, and Mast Work, based in Härnösand. As a telecommunications technician with the Swedish Armed Forces and FMTIS, you will be a vital part of a successful team and a rapidly growing agency. About FMTIS
FMTIS has four units that perform operation and maintenance of the Swedish Armed Forces' command and control systems. The Implementation Unit North (GE Norr) is one of these units. The units conduct operations that ensure the Armed Forces' ability to communicate and lead, 24/7 – year-round. The units are staffed with both military and civilian personnel. GE Norr consists of the Implementation Divisions in Boden, Luleå, Umeå, Härnösand, and Sollefteå. GA Härnösand has a Telecommunications Section with several different specializations. As a telecommunications technician, you will primarily work with preventive and corrective maintenance of the defense's systems for backup power, towers, and masts.
Main Responsibilities
The work is varied and is primarily carried out in the Swedish Armed Forces' facilities and installations, consisting largely of performing preventive and corrective maintenance. The work is mainly performed at unmanned Armed Forces facilities, which means that business travel and overnight stays away from home are common. Working at heights is common (tower and mast climbing). Internal training for specific work areas is provided by the Swedish Armed Forces.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Upper secondary or post-secondary education with a focus on electronics, electricity, machinery/vehicles, or equivalent knowledge assessed as equivalent by the employer
- Category B driver's license (manual transmission)
- Knowledge of Windows environment (PC proficiency)
- Good physical condition (medical examination will be conducted prior to employment)
- The position requires work at heights

QUALIFICATIONS
- We consider it an advantage if you have professional experience in areas such as control and regulation technology, engine knowledge, or power engineering
- Professional experience in the field and knowledge of Swedish Armed Forces equipment/material
- Post-secondary education in Electricity/Telecommunications Technology
- Completed basic military training

Other Information
Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.
During the probationary period, the qualification training "Tower and Mast" will be conducted for work at heights, requiring a passing grade.
Employment level: Full-time.
Work location: Härnösand.
The position is civilian.
Travel and overnight stays within the scope of work occur.
On-call duties may occur.
Foreign service may occur.
