Welcome to Orsa Municipality
Orsa Municipality is a small gem in the northern part of the Siljan region, where the wilderness is just around the corner and culture is at the center. Here, we work together in a simple way with close collaboration and short decision-making paths. We create opportunities together with people, focusing on quality of life, community, courage, and creativity.
About the Position
We are currently looking for a Residential Coach for our Housing First operation, which is part of our Resource Team. The Resource Team currently consists of four therapists working with outpatient treatment for children, families, and adults with substance abuse, addiction, or other social issues.
The Resource Team is part of the Individual and Family Care (IFO) in Orsa Municipality. The IFO unit comprises a total of 22 employees and also includes social psychiatry housing support, the adult group (financial assistance, domestic violence, substance abuse/addiction), the Children and Youth group (including family home secretaries), and budget and debt counselors. All work in close collaboration on cases involving multiple areas.
The Housing First Method
We believe in giving the key first. We have discarded the idea that people must "qualify" to get a home. Instead, we offer housing directly, followed by support to help the person settle in and build an independent life. It is not about control, but about supporting the tenant to thrive, keep their housing, and improve their quality of life.
Your Responsibilities
You will work relationally and motivationally. Your concrete tasks include:
- Offering individual and flexible support in the tenant's own home.
- Supporting the tenant in maintaining their housing and managing daily life.
- Working to build relationships and strengthen motivation.
- Collaborating with colleagues, landlords, psychiatry, addiction care, corrections, and other authorities.
Who Are You?
To thrive in this role, you are confident in yourself, free from hierarchy, and have a strong belief in people's ability to change their lives. You understand that progress is rarely a straight line.
Your Qualifications
- Education as a social worker, treatment pedagogue, mental health nurse, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Experience working with people with complex issues, such as dual diagnosis (psychiatry and harmful use/addiction) or homelessness.
- Good knowledge of low-affective approach and MI (Motivational Interviewing).
- Category B driver's license (required as the work takes place in the tenants' homes).
What We Offer
- Work with an evidence-based method against homelessness that works.
- Colleagues who are free from hierarchy, highly competent, and have a good sense of humor.
- Continuous supervision to keep mind and spirit in shape.
- The opportunity to plan much of your own time based on the tenants' needs.
About Orsa Municipality

IFO works with support and counseling for children, young people, families, persons with substance abuse issues, financial assistance, and certain interventions for people with intellectual disabilities.
A certificate of good conduct may be required before the employment contract is signed. We look forward to receiving your application!
