Temporary Social Worker for School Social Team in Hedemora

Since autumn 2025, the social services and schools in Hedemora Municipality have expanded their joint work regarding children's school attendance through a school social team. The school social team consists of a social worker from the social services and a social pedagogue from the school. The workplace is located at Hedemora Municipality's middle and upper secondary schools, and as the social worker in the team, you will be affiliated with the social services' child and youth unit.

Job Responsibilities

The purpose of the team's coordinated interventions is to contribute to increased security, increased school attendance, and to ensure that children and young people with an unfavorable development receive close support at an early stage, focusing on increased opportunities for success in school. The school social team works trust-building and preventive at an early stage at the individual level, already when small tendencies of concerning absence can be seen.

Based on the specific needs of children and young people, collaboration with other actors is also a central part of the work. You will work together with other resources within both the school, the leisure services administration, and the social services, focusing on promoting and preventive measures to support young people with problematic school absenteeism. This can, for example, involve support measures for guardians, facilitating communication and cooperation between guardians and other actors surrounding the individual.

The position is based during daytime hours, but some evening work may occur.

Qualifications and Requirements

We are looking for you who have a social work degree and a genuine interest in working with children, young people, and families. Previous experience in social services, school environments, as well as work with problematic school absenteeism and norm-breaking behavior is meritorious.

As a person, we see that you are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. You view relationships in their proper perspective and have a good ability to distinguish between the personal and professional. In your work, you are relationship-building. You need to have good collaboration skills and enjoy working within your own work group, as well as with other operations and authorities.

In the role, it is also important that you are flexible, adapt easily to changed circumstances, and can adjust your working methods to the needs and goals of the operation. At the same time, you are self-reliant and have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively.

Since the work involves a lot of communication and documentation, it is a requirement that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. In this recruitment, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Requirements:

• Social work degree (Social worker)
• Category B driver's license
• Applicants offered employment are required to provide an extract from the criminal record.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
