Your Role

At Saab in Helsingborg, we develop complex, high-tech training systems that prepare submarine crews for real-world scenarios. We are now looking for a Software Developer who wants to help build tomorrow's simulators. Here, you will dive deep into marine systems, modern .NET development, distributed systems, and simulation technology in an environment characterized by curiosity, lack of hierarchy, and strong technical drive.

In this role, you will be a key member of our cross-functional development team. You will have great freedom to independently shape and drive your tasks from architecture and design to finished code. We work with everything from heavy calculation models and network protocols to advanced logic. Since we build systems that mimic reality, high demands are placed on performance and stability, giving you exciting technical challenges to tackle every day.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Developing and enhancing simulation engines and applications in C# and the .NET environment.
• Designing and implementing robust, distributed system solutions.
• Exploring and integrating new technologies to continuously improve our systems and development methods.
• Working with the entire development chain - from design and coding to testing and integration in our physical training facilities.
• Sharing your knowledge and collaborating closely with architects, systems engineers, and other developers.

The position is located at our office in Helsingborg, and the work is performed on-site. Shorter trips may occur as needed, primarily within Skåne.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology who is energized by complex problem-solving. You thrive with significant personal responsibility, can drive your own tracks forward, and enjoy finding creative solutions to tricky challenges. Since we build the systems together, you appreciate a culture where we share code, thoughts, and ideas.

We believe you have:

• Experience in software development within .NET and C#.
• Understanding of object-oriented design and distributed systems.
• Relevant post-secondary education in data/IT, or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways.
• Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We see it as a significant plus if you have experience with or a strong interest in simulation technology, network programming, 3D graphics, or Linux environments. It is also meritorious if you have explored and used agentic AI or related technologies as a natural tool in your actual development process to streamline coding and problem-solving.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the security clearance regulations in effect at the time. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
