Statistician – Digital Development
Location: Stockholm or Östersund

This covers everything from how we can use new data sources and collection methods to how we present our statistics on the web. This gives you the opportunity to develop methods and tools for cutting-edge statistical work together with colleagues and our producers.
Job Description
You will work on various development projects within the statistical operations, focusing on digitalization and visualization. You will also be involved in the ongoing statistical production together with other statisticians and in collaboration with our external statistical producers. Currently, we primarily use SAS to process and develop underlying data to produce relevant and in-demand statistics. We are facing a transition to open source. You will contribute to this transition with your knowledge of R and/or Python. You will make the statistics available and disseminate them on the web through our statistics studio and statistics portal.
You may also participate in projects and investigations by contributing with data analysis and communicating results. You may represent Trafikanalys in external forums, for example in working groups on metadata and data quality. As a statistician, you will contribute to strengthening Trafikanalys' role as a knowledge agency.
About the Recruiting Department
The department is responsible for the production and dissemination of Sweden's official statistics in several statistical areas, including Road Traffic, Rail Traffic, Maritime, and Air Transport. The department is also responsible for international statistical reporting in the transport sector. The department participates in joint projects with other departments within the agency and provides statistics and analysis. Currently, there are 9 employees located in Östersund and Stockholm.
Requirements for the position
An academic degree with a focus on statistics, computer science, mathematics, AI, or other education, or alternatively experience that the employer deems relevant for the position.
At least three years of recent experience in statistical production, data management, data science, or business intelligence, or equivalent.
Very good knowledge of R and/or Python.
Very good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Excel.
Recent experience working with open-source solutions and APIs.
Recent experience in data visualization.
You have good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
You are curious and eager to learn new techniques and ways to solve problems. You are meticulous but also solution-oriented. You are proactive and have a good holistic view. You are self-reliant with good collaboration skills.
We would like you to have
Good knowledge of statistical methods.
Knowledge of and experience with the SAS software.
Experience working with statistical models and sample surveys.
Experience with web publishing.
Knowledge of front-end and/or back-end system development.
Previous experience from an agency or public sector.
Working Hours/Duration:
Permanent, start date according to agreement.
Salary according to agreement.
Trafikanalys applies a probationary period.
