Do you want to work in a broad accounting role in a smaller company where you have the opportunity to influence, develop, and make a real contribution? Do you thrive in a role where you can combine routine accounting with development and improvement work? Then you might be the one we are looking for!
We are now looking for an engaged and independent accountant for Sundbyberg Avfall & Vatten. Here, you will work close to the operations in a broad role with great variety and many points of contact. We are a smaller municipal company where you will have the opportunity to take responsibility, influence working methods, and be involved in the development of our financial processes.
About the role
In the role of accountant, you will be responsible for the accounts payable process. Since the company is taking over the entire accounts payable function, having previously had external support for parts of the work, you will need to establish new routines. You will also work broadly with routine accounting and year-end closing, contributing to developing and streamlining our working methods together with colleagues. You will belong to the Finance and Administration unit, where you will jointly be responsible for the company's financial processes and administrative support. Since we are a smaller company, we work closely together and help each other within the unit. Therefore, the role also involves supporting and acting as a backup for areas such as accounts receivable and payments. We are therefore looking for someone who thrives in a flat hierarchy environment where collaboration is a natural part of the work.
Here, you will work in a socially important operation while having great opportunities to influence both your role and the development of the business. The role involves many points of contact, and you will collaborate closely with both colleagues and managers within the company.
Responsibilities
As an accountant, you will work broadly within finance and accounting.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Being responsible for the entire accounts payable process, including distribution, coding, and payment of supplier invoices
- Handling routine accounting such as reconciliations, accruals, cost allocation, VAT, and payroll accounting
- Participating in monthly and annual closing, as well as preparing notes and audit documentation
- Being responsible for the development of Akribi Financials related to the supplier invoice process
- Working with project accounting and reporting statistics to authorities, such as SCB (Statistics Sweden)
- Working with group reconciliations and counterparty accounting
- Providing support and backup in accounts receivable, customer invoicing, claims management, and bank deposits
- Participating in development and streamlining work related to accounting and financial processes
- Participating in other financial work occurring within the unit
We are looking for you
For this role, we see that you have:
- Post-secondary education in economics or equivalent work experience deemed equivalent by the employer
- At least three years of experience working with accounts payable, routine accounting, and closing processes
- Good system proficiency and very good knowledge of Excel
- Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
- Experience in developing and streamlining financial processes, preferably related to accounting and accounts payable
It is meritorious if you have experience with the systems Fenix and EDP Future, as well as experience from public or municipal operations.
Personal qualities
To succeed in the role, you are a person who works systematically and has the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently. You are meticulous and quality-conscious, and your working style is characterized by orderliness, good documentation, and high delivery reliability.
You take responsibility for your tasks and drive your processes forward independently. At the same time, you are engaged, proactive, and thrive in a role where you can contribute to the development and improvement of working methods and routines.
Since we are a smaller company, it is important that you enjoy collaborating and contributing to the group as a whole. You have a positive and service-oriented attitude, are receptive in your interactions with others, and find it easy to build good relationships. The role involves many points of contact within the organization, so you also need to have good communication skills and be able to quickly familiarize yourself with new issues and situations.
Our offer
Here, you will work with approximately 50 engaged employees who enjoy working together. We are a smaller company with short decision-making paths, where you have the opportunity to work broadly and be involved in many different matters. Here, you will not only work with routine finance but also contribute to the development, improvement, and streamlining of our working methods and processes.
For us, a sustainable work environment and a good balance between work and private life are important. We have a work culture where we help and support each other, and where collaboration and flat hierarchy are a natural part of everyday life.
Here, you will have the opportunity to contribute to societal development and be part of an operation that makes a difference for the residents of Sundbyberg every day.
Application
You apply for the position by sending your CV and a cover letter. We review incoming applications continuously, and the position may be filled before the final application deadline. The final application deadline is June 22.
If you have questions about the position, you are welcome to contact the recruiting manager, Patrik Hellmark, via email at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected])
