Luleå is the heart of Northern Sweden, offering the amenities of a big city and the closeness of a small town, combined with the strength of a university and the innovative spirit of local businesses. Tunaskolan F-9, located in the Tuna area between Mjölkudden and Notviken, covers one of Luleå's larger catchment areas. The school has approximately 580 primary school students in autumn 2025, with about 170 of them also participating in our after-school care activities. Within Tunaskolan, the Adapted Primary School operates with approximately 120 students, which means we have opportunities for collaboration within our school. The school is self-sufficient regarding facilities, meaning we avoid travel to other schools when students need practical-esthetic subjects. The school has been fully renovated over the past few years, meaning classrooms and furniture are of high standard.

In the area, we also have good contacts with other actors such as Notvikens IK, the Church, and the Tenants' Association. The school can also use Notvikens IK's entire sports facility, which is connected to the school area via a tunnel under Mjölkuddsvägen. Additionally, there is proximity to the Coop Norrbotten Arena during the winter half-year. Tunaskolan's central location makes it easy for students to reach events organized in the city center or on the university campus, something that is also well utilized by our skilled educators. Despite its central location, Tunaskolan is also close to nature and water, which in turn provides great opportunities for variation in teaching.

WORK RESPONSIBILITIES

We are in an expansion phase and need certified teachers. If you are a certified teacher, we would love to receive your application. We are currently looking for a teacher who is qualified as a primary school teacher; the need is primarily for Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language, but other qualifications are also of great interest. Experience and/or education in special education is meritorious. As a teacher, you will teach students in grades 4-6. You will be part of a work team of about 15 people. The position includes mentorship. The position is 100% and is initially a temporary vacancy, but with good opportunities for extension.

QUALIFICATIONS

Now, with a teaching license, you have the right qualifications and the chance to come to Tunaskolan and make a difference with your knowledge and experience. We expect you to be an interested, engaged, and competent teacher who wants to contribute to the development of Tunaskolan. We naturally expect that you have a deep-seated interest in working with students and student learning. Furthermore, we assume that you are good at collaborating with others and that you share the knowledge and experiences you possess. We want you to be well-versed in the regulatory documents that govern the school and to act based on these in meetings with students, guardians, and staff.

Start date: 2025-08-26 or as agreed.
