Adult Services, part of the Individual and Family Care within the department, is now looking for a Social Secretary for the reception unit for a fixed-term position with the possibility of permanent employment. Here, Social Secretaries are tasked with receiving, investigating, and assessing the need for interventions for adults, supported by the Social Services Act and the Act of Care for Abusers in Certain Cases. The work is led by the Unit Manager, two Senior Social Secretaries, and a coordinator for domestic violence. Within the unit, we work proactively and preventively.

Job Description

At Adult Services, you work with social change and motivational work for people in challenging life situations. Together with your colleagues in the reception unit, you are the gateway to social services for adults in Mjölby Municipality. You receive applications and reports, answer questions, and provide advice and support to individuals and other professional actors.

You investigate initial applications for financial assistance and act in the initial stages when there is a need for interventions regarding, for example, harmful use and addiction, domestic violence, and homelessness. Your role also includes preventive work by early identification of the need for other support measures and collaboration with other actors, both internally and externally.

The reception unit works in close collaboration with other colleagues at Adult Services, who take over cases when further interventions are needed. You will have the opportunity to perform practical social work in meetings with citizens, as well as opportunities to engage in various tasks that promote both the development of the operations and your own professional growth. Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work or another equivalent education that the employer deems relevant. You should have previous experience in exercising authority. It is an advantage if you have experience in social work and knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing), BIP (Brief Intervention Program), VINR (Violence in Intimate Relationships), and harmful use and addiction. We also consider it advantageous if you have experience collaborating with external actors, such as the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Region, and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of current legislation and can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A class B driver's license is required.
