1 position.
Do you want to contribute to giving our students a strong start in their professional lives? Sjödalsgymnasiet is now looking for an engaged and structured APL coordinator who wants to develop and strengthen the cooperation between our vocational programs and working life.
This is a permanent position at 50%.
About the position
As an APL coordinator, you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and following up on the workplace-based learning (APL) for students in the Electricity and Energy program (EE), the Plumbing and Building Services program (VVS), and the Sales and Service program (FS). You work closely with vocational teachers, students, and companies and play a central role in ensuring the quality and relevance of the students' education. In addition to tasks related to APL, the role may include student-facing work in the classroom and other administrative duties. We may call for interviews before the application deadline.
The role involves building and developing a long-term network of APL companies within current industries, as well as sourcing internships in close cooperation with vocational teachers. You also contact and quality-assure companies where students have arranged their own internships and are responsible for matching students with suitable APL placements in dialogue with the relevant teachers. If necessary, you provide extra support to students, for example by accompanying them during their first visit to the workplace.
Furthermore, you are responsible for drawing up and administering APL agreements and ensuring that the signing process runs smoothly. The role also includes handling ID06 for students in electricity and plumbing training, sending out information and materials to companies and supervisors, and informing about APL compensation and supervisor training. You manage the ongoing administration related to APL, such as documentation and updating the company register.
You prepare documentation for applications for apprenticeship grants as well as for payments to companies, supervisors, and students. An important part of the work is also to ensure that students who lose their APL placement quickly receive a new one. In addition, you work strategically to establish agreements with larger companies that can take in several students over time, and you follow up on APL periods through continuous contact with workplaces and supervisors.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Is structured, responsible, and has good administrative skills
- Has an easy time building trusting relationships and collaborating with different actors
- Is communicative and confident in contact with both young people and employers
- Has the ability to support students with different needs
- Thrives in a varied role with both operational and strategic elements
- Has upper secondary education or equivalent
- Has experience working in upper secondary school or vocational education
- Has good collaboration skills
It is meritorious if you:
- Have worked with APL, internships, or school-worklife collaboration
- Have industry contacts within electricity, plumbing, or service/trade
