We are now looking for an engaged and creative cook for the newly formed Food Service Unit in Norberg. The unit is centrally located under the Municipal Executive Board and belongs to the municipality's management office. We prepare and serve meals for preschools, schools, as well as care and elderly services within Norberg.

Here, as an employee, you will have the opportunity to contribute to good and nutritious meals prepared based on the needs of our various guests. Our meals should also promote a healthy lifestyle and create an interest in food and health.

Responsibilities

In the role of cook, you will work with varied tasks within the food service operations. You will contribute to maintaining high quality in the meals and adapting them to the needs of our diners.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • being responsible for the production and serving of meals
  • preparing and handling special diets and allergen-free meals
  • packing goods for our various departments
  • receiving goods and handling orders
  • communicating with customers and operations
  • working with self-control according to current routines
  • being responsible for dishwashing, cleaning, and order in the kitchen
  • working in our food program, Matilda

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a great interest in food and meals. You are curious, flexible, and dare to try new ways of working. You enjoy cooking for different target groups, whether the diners are in preschool, school, or care.

You have excellent knowledge of special diets, allergen-free meals, vegetarian food, and other adapted diets. You are confident in following routines and instructions and have a clear focus on quality, health, and good service.

You need to feel comfortable working both independently and together with others.

We are looking for you who have:

  • relevant education as a cook and experience working in a large kitchen
  • ability to prepare meals with a focus on quality and health
  • good knowledge of allergies, special diets, and adapted meals
  • good communication skills and ease in collaborating with colleagues and other operations
  • creativity, commitment to food and meals
  • flexibility and ability to adapt to a varied work environment and workload

We place great emphasis on your commitment, your curiosity, and your willingness to learn and develop in the role.

You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as the job requires you to understand and follow instructions, routines, self-control, and other guidelines that are important for safety, quality, and service.

Conditions

In connection with the ongoing renovation of our two school kitchens, we are looking for an employee for a fixed-term position. During the employment period, the work may take place at different units within the Food Service Unit. Possibility of extension may exist.
